Singer/Songwriter Melissa Mulligan has been voted "Best Singer-Songwriter" (2007 and 2006) in the Fairfield Weekly Grand Band Slam and has received critical acclaim and fan support for her CD's, Love This Life (2004), sparrow (2006) and Baby, It's Christmas Time! (2007). Her songwriting has garnered several ASCAP Plus awards, a Nashville showcase for performing songwriters, and an honorable mention in last year's Billboard Songwriting Competition (for the funny-yet-honest, "Objectify Me"). MM is a popular performer in Connecticut and surrounding areas. You can see her (and the Melissa Mulligan Band) at lovely venues throughout Connecticut, New York, and New England.

Melissa is very dedicated to teaching vocal performance and songwriting. She creates songwriting workshops for pre-teens and teenagers and teaches about 20 aspiring singers and writers privately. Click here for more information.

Incorporating her love of music with her passion for community service, she has created, organized, and performed at benefit concerts for several of her favorite charities, including:
Melissa Mulligan's annual "Women of Song - A Benefit for the Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County" ~ (Development Volunteer of the Year - 2007)
"Katrina Canine concert" for New Leash on Life
The Jamie Hulley Fund for the Arts
The Singer's Circle Presents "An Acoustic Benefit for WPKN"
Literacy Volunteers of Greater Waterbury
Girls, Inc.
Bonnie Lee Panda's concert for the Bawa Initiative

In their spare time, MM and Suzanne Vick co-host The Singers' Circle, a monthly radio show created by and for indie artists, on WPKN, Bridgeport, WPKM, Montauk. Please visit the Singers' Circle page for more info.

Melissa has been performing her songs for audiences since the age of nine when she sang an original song at a school function. She developed her craft over the next twenty years through formal voice training, jazz ensembles, concert choirs, rock-n-roll bands, and a bachelor’s degree in English.
